New York Fashion Week: Edition #1

New York Fashion Week saw a plethora of amazing designers showcase their collections. TILB brings to you out report on those eye catching, jaw dropping creations that really frame the trends for this Autumn/ Winter.

1. Zac Posen

Attitude meets glamour seemed to be the theme at Zac Posen’s show at the NYFW. His collection had beautiful red columnist carpet gowns with cinched waists and wearable flows dresses. And who could forget the grand finale as Zac and Naomi Campbell walked together.

2. Zimmerman

Nicky Zimmerman a lot of bohemian and 70s inspired elements to her collection. Float gowns with puffy sleeves and nipped waists provided an easy to wear collection. Her collection certainly had a lot of flair and volume to it.

3. Tracy Reese

This collection translated a sense of power into the clothes by using lots of rich texture – faux fur being the predominant one. The collection had a lot going on for easy yet assertive clothes with bold African motifs and inspiration from the 70s.

4. Tommy Hilfiger

The venue transformed into a football stadium, the classic sporty stripes, the football laced heeled boots were some of the few highlights from the Tommy Hilfiger show. Several looks of bouclé plaid and faux fur graced the runway. The details went down to tiny pins and stars on the clothing items.

5. Tadashi Shoji

The designer known for his evening wear did not disappoint when he turned up with his flight themed collection at the NYFW.  His dresses consisted of silk chiffon over neoprene, corseted waists surging out into a skirt of feathers. The collection also included embroidered and organza gowns in metallic tones giving a slight edge to his collection.
